Patrick Allen was a co-founder with David Frith of Wisden Cricket Monthly in 1979 and remained a director until 1994. An accomplished statistician and writer, who previously compiled the National Cricket Averages for the Press Association, he compiled the Rothmans Club Cricket Yearbook of 1982 and the David Gower Quiz Book in 1994. He lives in London and has been a lifelong cricket fan, playing regularly for several club teams. He is also a member of the Melbourne Cricket Club.
