An Age of License is a funny and charming account of a whimsical tour of the continent, as Knisley promotes her latest work. Taking in her many encounters with cute cats, occasional romantic endeavours and her trademark illustrations of the food she ate along the way. But it's not all kittens and crepes: Knisley's experiences are coloured by anxieties, introspective self-enquiry and a series of revelatory experiences, made even more intense for occurring in an unfamiliar country.
