The film adaptation is directed by Paul Weitz (About a Boy, American Pie), who co-wrote the screenplay with Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, A Knight's Tale). The cast includes John C. Reilly, Selma Hayek, Chris Kelly, Josh Hutcherson and Ken Watanabe.
