NEW LATIN AMERICAN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTUR
Author(s): MIQUEL ADRIA (ED)
This title features over 20 recent Latin American works. Case studies include houses, commercial buildings and landscape projects. With the aid of detailed examples this new title explores the relationship between landscape and architecture, demonstrating the interaction between the two disciplines. The selection includes buildings that impose themselves onto the landscape and projects that support, contain and interact with domesticated nature, such as the Orchidorama in Medellin. Other examples are based on experiments, games and temporary installations where the common denominator is the alteration of the landscape itself. Also included are more landscape-based schemes which define areas and improve accessibility, while introducing monumental and built elements imparting architectural characteristics.
