Malorie Blackman was the eighth Children's Laureate and is one of the UK's most popular children's authors. She has won, amongst a raft of other prizes, the Children's Book Award and is the force behind YALC. In 2005 she was honoured with the Eleanor Farjeon Award and in 2008 she received an OBE for services to children's literature. She has been described by The Times as "a national treasure".

Matt Robertson grew up in Suffolk, and spent most of his childhood drawing and creating characters. He completed his MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art in 2014. Matt is the winner of a Lara Jones Award and a Macmillan Children's Book Prize, and he was a finalist in the Waterstones "Picture This" competition.Ellie is the rudest, most spoiled child her grandma has ever met and it's time that she learnt a lesson!
